
Sabrina Das
Writer and Narrator
Sabrina Das is an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Abortion Surgeon from Southeast Asia with mixed heritage (Sri-Lankan/Chinese) background. In addition to her main practice in the United Kingdom, she has worked in Guatemala, South Africa, Yemen and Palestine. Sabrina channels her international medical experience into her writing and advocacy.
This is her first time using film as a medium, combining the academic discipline of oral history to share insights from spending a year in the US on a Harkness Fellowship, sponsored by the Commonwealth Fund.

Steve Ryan
Director and Editor
Steve Ryan is an Irish documentary filmmaker based in London. He is interested in telling stories that explore the unseen aspects of our world. Steve studied philosophy before training in theatre, dance and circus in England and France.
His interest in filmmaking grew out of his love of film and his experiences as a performer – travelling the world telling stories and sharing emotions with the audience.
Steve’s films combine storytelling with a sense of justice, humour and beauty – allowing the viewer access to hidden, unseen worlds and perspectives.
